We’re excited to announce the addition of the GLA:D (Goodlife with OsteoArthritis:Denmark) program to our clinic, led by experienced practitioner Zen Sutherland. GLA:D is an evidence-based education and exercise program designed to help individuals living with hip or knee osteoarthritis manage symptoms, improve function, and enhance their quality of life.
The GLA:D program is ideal for individuals experiencing mild to severe osteoarthritis symptoms, whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing joint discomfort for some time.
Osteoarthitis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and a leading cause of joint pain and stiffness, especially in the hips and knees. It occurs when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of your bones gradually wears down over time. This can lead to pain, inflammation, decreased mobility, and reduced quality of life.
While osteoarthritis can affect any joint, it most commonly impacts weight-bearing joints like the hips and knees.
Pain in groin, outer thigh or buttocks
Stiffness, especially after sitting or resting
Reduced range of motion in hips
Difficulty walking, bending or putting on socks/shoes
Clicking or grinding sensation in the joint
Pain during or after movement, especially with weight-bearing activities
Stiffness after periods of rest of first thing in the morning
Swelling around the knee
Clicking, popping, or grinding sensations
Weakness or instability (feeling like the knee might “give away”)
