Custom Orthotics

Orthotics refer to custom-made devices designed to support, align, and improve the function of the feet and lower limbs. These inserts, worn inside shoes, are tailored to address various biomechanical issues, such as overpronation (excessive outward rolling) or supination (insufficient rolling). Orthotics can alleviate discomfort, correct gait abnormalities, distribute pressure more evenly, and enhance overall foot function, aiding in the management of conditions like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, and certain sports injuries.
A Medical Doctors referral is NOT necessary. Our Chiropodist can prescribe (write referrals) and dispense orthotics.
Orthotics may be necessary for a variety of reasons, including:
Foot Pain
Alleviating discomfort caused by conditions like plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, and bunions.
High Arches (Pes Cavus)
Offering cushioning and stability for those with higher-than-normal arches.
Supination
Addressing excessive outward rolling of the feet, leading to uneven weight distribution.
Achilles Tendonitis
Offloading stress from the Achilles tendon to aid in healing.
Sports Injuries
Assisting in the recovery and prevention of injuries like stress fractures or runner's knee.
Arthritis
Offering support and cushioning to joints affected by arthritis.
Bunions
Providing relief and preventing progression of the condition.
Uneven Leg Length
Balancing out leg length discrepancies to promote proper alignment.
Flat Feet (Pes Planus)
Providing arch support and improving foot mechanics for individuals with low or collapsed arches.
Overpronation
Correcting excessive inward rolling of the feet during walking or running.
Shin Splints
Reducing strain on the shin muscles and bones by improving foot alignment.
Plantar Fasciitis
Providing arch support and cushioning to relieve inflammation and pain in the plantar fascia.
Diabetic Foot Care
Enhancing foot comfort and reducing the risk of ulcers and other complications.
Gait Abnormalities
Improving walking or running patterns to alleviate strain on muscles and joints.
Hammer Toes
Correcting toe deformities to reduce discomfort and prevent further issues.
